This job is a piece antler light fixture of cake. Taking down a normal ceiling light and putting a new one in its place should take no more than an hour to complete.

You’ll need a screwdriver, a circuit tester and a sturdy step ladder or ladder stool. Circuit testers are available wherever electrical tools are sold, and a simple one usually costs less than $5.

Start the job by cutting the power to the fixture you’re changing. This is done by going to your house’s main service panel and turning off the circuit breaker to that room or by removing the appropriate fuse. Read the rest of this entry »
